JOB DESCRIPTION: Global Youth Reporter

The Team Harmony Foundation in partnership with Emerson College is looking for youth reporters from all over the world to participate in a 6-part web series, Hate: What are YOU going to DO?

Each episode, created by students for students, will highlight activities that promote respect and inclusion with a special focus on what each of us can do to combat racism and prejudice in our communities. As a youth reporter, you will participate in monthly production meetings to determine program topics, interview subjects and research student activities in your country. In addition, you will be assigned a news topic and it will be your job to bring back the story!

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Between the ages of 15 and 25
• Have a passion for video storytelling and comfortable being on camera.
• Reporters must commit to a 7-month period (September 2020 – March 2021)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• You will be a part of the production process and topic selection.
• You will be responsible for creating on deadline news packages, including collecting interviews from peers and community leaders, and shooting video.
• You may also participate in roundtable panel discussions addressing issues they deal with (or dealt with) at their schools.

PAYMENT RATE: $250 an episode (NOTE: As a reporter you may not appear on all episodes. )

TIME DEMANDS: Program planning will begin in September 2020. All youth reporters will need to commit to a 7-month period, approximately 6-10 hours per month. The estimated hours per month include program planning, production, research, rehearsal time and news interview.

VIDEO DEMO GUIDELINES: Please submit a 1-2 minute video on the subject of your choice showcasing your personality and interviewing skills. Please conduct any interviews in a quiet location and speak up for best audio quality on a phone camera. Remember to shoot it horizontally.
