The Team Harmony Foundation’s year-round program consists of nine (9) key elements. Each element is a key component in the Foundation’s mission to educate, inspire and engage youth in the battle against hate in all its forms.

1-The Team Harmony Coalition

Team Harmony believes that “the minorities are the majority” and by banding and working together we can help ensure equality and social justice for all. The Team Harmony Coalition is comprised of a diverse set of organizations and is growing everyday. We welcome the involvement of organizations interested in joining us in our mission! For more information about becoming a coalition partner, please contact us.

2-Youth Advisory Council

The Team Harmony Youth Advisory Council is comprised of committed and passionate middle and high school leaders from around the United States and 5 continents. The Youth Advisory Council will help plan the Team Harmony events and program elements. Members are selected based on their strong interest in cultural diversity and social justice and a willingness to educate and empower young people to actively engage in activities that unify our communities.

3-Student Activities Tool Kit

In partnership with Coalition member, Generation Citizen, and with input from the Youth Advisory Council and the Team Harmony Community Coalition, Team Harmony will develop, design and distribute an Activities Tool Kit that will feature school-based and student-led activities which promote inclusion and combat hate. The Activities Tool Kit will also include best practices about how to respond to acts of prejudice or racism in schools and communities.

4-Social Media Campaigns

The power and reach of social media is beyond question and social media plays a big part in many young people’s lives. A 2018 Pew Research Center survey of teenagers found that 45% are online almost constantly and 97% use a social media platform, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat. Team Harmony youth advocates will engage their peers via social media campaigns throughout the year. These campaigns will be developed and disseminated peer to peer.

5-The Team Harmony Awards

The Team Harmony Awards will be presented annually to students groups or individual students for recognition of their efforts to promote tolerance and inclusion, celebrate diversity and/or to combat hate. All candidates for consideration for the Team Harmony Award must be nominated. These prestigious awards will be presented at the annual Team Harmony Youth Rally or via a special virtual awards ceremony.

6-The Team Harmony Global Youth Rally

Each year, Team Harmony will look to conduct its traditional youth rally in designated cities in the United States and around the world. This has been the cornerstone of the Team Harmony effort since our creation. At these rallies, students will hear from prominent leaders in the battle for social justice and equality and also from their peers from around the world. Team Harmony is planning to conduct rallies in Boston and Atlanta in the late Fall of 2021.
